b/millionaires who don't look the part
"Mark Zuckerberg's appearance is every bit the geek. He wears a zippered brown sweatshirt, baggy khakis pants and Adidas sandals. He walked into the room eating a bowl of cereal from a paper bowl with a plastic spoon. He still resides in a rented apartment, with a two chairs, a table and a mattress on the floor. Mark walks or rides a bicycle to the office every day." Source
Mark is the founder of Facebook, and though there is still controversy on whether he really is a billionaire (at least on paper) or not, there's no doubt that he is rich (even if reports state that Facebook has not met revenue targets and that Mark really owns only 30% of the company now).
And yet, he is so simple - almost a geek-hippie. Incredible.

billionaires who don't look the part are so much better than people in a lifetime of debt wearing flashy clothes and bling.
look at buffett. i admire that guy, and i want to meet him in person :)
barry> balance is key. what good is money din naman if you can't enjoy it? i guess it's all about working to live, not living to work.
the richest people i know actually live very simple lives. the only luxury that i can see them having is that they need to have bodyguards. and all the branded stuff they own are normally gifts to them. :)
ekay> a life with bodyguards? i don't know if i can deal with that. it seems too heavy. this is also the reason why i don't hire drivers, even if technically, my company can afford to hire one. such an invasion of privacy. but that's just me.
Ako naman I always had a driver ever since, hehe. :) Kaya nga now nung na stroke si Mang R nag MRT and commute kami! Go for the environment. :) Anyway, yep, bodyguards at least 4 of them all the time. Andon nga ako lagi sa car nung guards which was an afraid moment kasi ako yung magiging patibong. Haha. :)
A few really rich people are like that, not comfortable flaunting their wealth and just happy staying simple. For them, money can't buy happiness.
nomadic pinoy> yeah. well, money is really boring. it's what you do with it that makes it interesting.
